Like here, they can leave if they want but while they are there they can sleep in beds, eat whatever food they want, run and play outside without having to worry about their appearance. They also learn more about themselves, learn how to use and control their powers to where they are truly a gift. They don't have feel like they're cursed or a freak or be afraid of what they are.
You may not agree with the Professor's stance on things but you can't stand there and tell me the children here couldn't benefit from an environment like that. They don't have to live underground.
