[It wasn't very smart of them to advertise the Allerdyce family reunion in the paper.

Did his parents think he'd just died without them? Or that he'd somehow forget or even forgive what they'd done after a few years? No, none of the above are true - John is very much alive, allied with the Brotherhood, and he's ready to burn this entire party to the ground. First, he just needs to find the dear parents who deserted their own 12 year old child because of his powers and have a little talk with them.

If he can dodge all of the cousins and aunts and uncles trying to figure out who he is and why he's here.]

[She'll help, if he wants. Their powers are nothing to be ashamed of. Their powers are certainly nothing he should have been abandoned for (and she tells herself that feeling is not sympathy; it's simply good sense). The only thing this branch of the family got right was to say it made them not human.

So if John wants to watch the people that rejected them burn, his cousin Ami won't lift a finger to put out the flames. Her parents aren't among the aunts and uncles anyway, and they're the only ones she'd have considered saving. Mama, anyway.
